GREEN Engineering (GREEN) is a Turkish consultancy firm founded in January 2019 and based in Istanbul, to provide consultancy services to national and international clients in Turkey and in a wider region.

GREEN strongly believes that better and green infrastructure projects should be built for the future of cities and their residents. We work with and for international financing institutions, industrial clients, governmental authorities and institutions to ensure sound management of the investment projects.

GREEN adheres to the principles and guidelines of the IFC Sustainability Framework, World Bank Operational Directives and Operational Policies, and EBRD Social and Environmental Policy.

GREEN works collaboratively across a wide network of professional experts and technical partners.

Özkan Hayta has more than 20 years of professional work experience as a civil engineer in a wide range of sectors (infrastructure, transportation, water, wastewater, stormwater) mainly focusing on project management, procurement and contract management.

As of January 2019, he is the company manager of GREEN and has managed a number of projects. Some of them are as follows;

He acted as the Project Manager for preparation of the feasibility study of purchasing 254 CNG and 28 diesel buses for Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, funded by EBRD.

He acted as the Project Manager for preparation of Environmental and Social, Technical and Procurement Due Diligence for Izmir Narlıdere Metro funded by Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

He acted as the Local Project Manager for Izmir Green City Action Plan (GCAP), Izmir Sustainable Energy Climate Action Plan (SECAP) and Deputy Project Manager of Izmir Metro Project II for Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. These three projects are funded by EBRD.

He also acted as the Local Project Manager of Urban Transformation Project for Kahramanmaraş, Manisa and Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipalities and Resilient Infrastructure Project for Kahramanmaraş and Manisa Metropolitan Municipalities and Rize Municipality. In addition, he is the Local Project Manager for Supporting Ilbank on Climate and Disaster Risk Management Capacity project. These three projects are funded by World Bank.

Between 2015 and 2019, he was the Highway and Railway Lead of AECOM Turkey (AECOM is ranked as the #2 in ENR’s Top 500 Design Firms at 2020). Özkan was an AECOM certified Project Manager and Approved Lead Verifier. Özkan has managed a number of projects in AECOM Turkey. Some of them are as follows;

• Umraniye – Goztepe Metro Procurement Due Diligence for EBRD,
• Planning, Preliminary and Final Design of Istanbul Grand Airport,
• Preliminary Design and Feasibility Study of Unkapanı Tunnel Design,
• Conceptual Design for the Istanbul Pedestrian Tunnel.
